Lanzhou Institute of Biological Products (LIBP) was  founded in 1934 with a long history of 70 years. Before 1949 it was the  Northwest Epidemic Prevention Agency of National Government and now it is a  state-owned enterprise under China National Biotec Corporation. 

LIBP is a  biotechnology enterprise engaged in the R & D,manufacture and marketing of  biological products. The main task of the Institute is researching, producing  and selling biological products used for prevention, treatment and diagnosis of  infectious diseases and other diseases.

It is also an  important scientific research institute in China in the fields of Medical  Microbiology, Immunology, Epidemiology and Experimental Zoology. I1 has been  authorized 1o confer the Master's degree and appointed as postdoctor working  station aswell.  

LIBP is selected as one of the industrialized base of National  863 Program under the Ministry of Science & Technology and one of the  Technique Centre of State Enterprises.  

The total area  of LIBP covers 430.000 square meters, among which, 110.000 square meters are  floor space where 1450 employ- ees are working.

The Institute  consists of 6 research laboratories and 15 production or production auxiliary  departments. Beside, there are 2 national bacteria strain preservation centers,  1 bio saf-ety labora tory, 1 QA department and 1 QC department in the  Institute.In the last  decade, 4 new biological products of class I, 8 of class II and 15 other new  biological products have been suc-cessfully developed in LIBP.

All of its  workshops conform to GMP standard by SFDA's inspection.
Nowadays,  totally 100 kinds of biological products are produ-ced here, including vaccines,  antitoxins, toxoids, blood preparations, immunoregulators, diagnostic reagents  and other health care products used for prevention, treatment and diagnosis.
The marketing  network of LIBP covers the whole area of mainland,China and some products have  been exported to foreign countries.

El Instituto consta de 6 laboratorios de investigación y producción de 15  auxiliares de producción o departamentos. Junto, hay 2 nacional cepa de  bacterias centros de preservación, 1 laboratorio de seguridad biológica, 1  departamento de control de calidad QC y 1 departamento en el Instituto.

En la última década, el 4 de nuevos productos biológicos de las clases I, 8  de la clase II y otros 15 nuevos productos biológicos se han desarrollado con  éxito en LIBP.

Todos sus talleres se ajustan a las prácticas correctas de fabricación  estándar de la SFDA de inspección.

Hoy en día, del total 100 tipos de productos biológicos se producen aquí,  incluidas las vacunas, antitoxinas, toxoids, preparaciones de sangre, inmunoreguladores,  reactivos de diagnóstico y otros productos para el cuidado de la salud utilizan  para la prevención, el tratamiento y diagnóstico.

La red de comercialización de LIBP cubre todo el área de territorio  continental, China y algunos productos han sido exportados a países  extranjeros.
